01 — What we do
We train engineers by handing them real hardware and a deadline.
Three seasons of robots — from ROVs for the pool to sumo bots for the ring — and a workshop that runs all year round. Members own a subsystem from sketch to competition day.

Fabrication, firmware and circuit design taught at the bench. You learn a thing by making it work.

Our robots are judged against international teams. Designs that only work on paper get found out fast.

03 — The robot
Fourteen parts
Steve, straight out of the team's CAD: a base plate, a rear cage around the drivetrain, a top enclosure for the electronics, two gear motors, two wheels and a wedge.
Built up from the plate
Everything bolts to one base plate. Brackets and motor mounts go on first, the motors slide in along the axles, then the cage and enclosure close over the top.
Rear drive, full-width wedge
Two gear motors turn 50 mm tyres at the back. Up front, a wedge spans the full 200 mm width of the robot and sits right down on the ground.

Every part you just watched started as a design on screen. This is the real Steve that came out of it, built by the team and driving under its own power.
